Over the years, we have truly developed an adult Martial Arts program designed for everyone. No matter your age, sex or physical fitness level. The adult Martial Arts program at American Black Belt Academy in Massapequa Park offers a combination of fitness and self defense while developing self-discipline, perseverance and respect. Our program includes classes in American Kenpo Karate, Mixed Martial Arts, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA Fight Fitness. Every class is a great cardiovascular workout. All aspects of Ed Parker's Kenpo Karate system are taught, including striking techniques, forms, self defense techniques, sets and basics. Our curriculum is approved by the Worldwide Kenpo Karate Association. Black Belt testing is certified by 10th Degree Black Belt Mr. Joe Palanzo and the board of directors for the WKKA. At American Black Belt Academy in Massapequa Park, we offer a well-balanced adult Martial Arts program for those looking to get into great shape and learn how to defend themselves at the same time. ED PARKER’S AMERICAN KENPO
Kenpo is a combination of ancient fighting techniques and modern scientific principles, a force which can overwhelm any attacker. Every block is a strike, every strike is a block. This logical and sequential flow of motion is the essence of Kenpo.

American Kenpo is a modern self-defense art, which is a method of physical and mental conditioning, created by the late Grand Master Ed Parker. He styled a realistic method of self-defense that utilizes all our weapons (hands, fingers, elbows, knees and feet) in ways that anyone can perform. It emphasizes speed, power, agility and accuracy, but requires no special strength or abilities. Kenpo movements will help develop better coordination, increased strength and flexibility.
MIXED MARTIAL ARTS 
Learn the principles of MMA in a safe, structured environment.

Mixed Martial Arts - During our MMA classes students are taught the art of boxing by developing hand speed, punching power, footwork, stamina and strong defensive skills. Students will learn practical and realistic movements that work in the ring as well as on the street. In addition to devastating hand strikes, each student is taught the finer points of all the Martial Arts kicks while concentrating on power and technique. Muay Thai, Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques are also covered in these classes. MMA classes provide an incredible cardiovascular workout - keeping you challenged physically and mentally.

Jiu Jitsu Combatives - BJJ for MMA (Beginner Program)- Our Jiu Jitsu Combatives classes are designed specifically for people with absolutely no previous Brazilian Jiu Jitsu experience. Building strong fundamental skills is the art of Jiu Jitsu is a sure way to keep yourself safe in any street situation. During these classes we work on teaching a person to successfully defend against an opponent using leverage and technique. Our Combatives classes focus on more of the self defense benefits of Jiu Jitsu over the sport aspect.

BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and self-defense system that can be trained for sport or self defense. The focus of Jiu-Jitsu is submission grappling (ground fighting). It teaches a person to defend against an opponent using leverage and technique. The fundamental ground moves are those that neutralize, immobilize, choke or apply pressure or twisting to the body’s larger joints (submissions) to conquer over an adversary’s attack. Jiu-Jitsu is one of the few martial arts in which you can test your skills sparring on a live resisting opponent without having to hold back in fear of hurting your partner (commonly referred to as rolling). Both rolling and live drilling play a major part in the progression through the belts/ranks. A resisting opponent helps the student realizes their strengths, and polish their deficiencies; that way, when you need it to defend oneself, you already know what it feels like to have someone fight back.

Here at American Black Belt Academy, we truly believe that being in great shape is an important form of self defense. Introducing our new Fight Fit classes. Fight Fit is the ultimate fitness class combining the principles of Circuit and Suspension Training and Mixed Martial Arts. Train like a fighter in a class that strengthens you physically and mentally. Our intense, high energy conditioning drills, coupled with techniques from Boxing, Kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu will build your cardio and muscular endurance like you’ve only imagined. This class is available to all students in our Adult Martial Arts program and our Women's Fitness Program.
